Welcome to Saginaw United Methodist Church!
- We would be happy to have meet you in person on Sundays at 8:30a.m. or 11 a.m.! Or, if you need an online option, you can find a livestream of our services available on our any of our streaming platforms and Watch Live page beginning at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. each Sunday. If you tune in with worship in progress you can watch the full service on our Vimeo channel. It is our joy to welcome you and to tell you how God is moving in our community of faith. We’re glad you’re interested in finding out more about us.
We’ve been a part of the Saginaw community for 107 years. Our mission is to “make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world . . . one person at a time.” This means that we take an interest in you and in your walk with God. We as a church want to be a channel of God’s grace to work in your life so that you may fully be the person God created you to be and be a blessing to God’s world.
Below are some frequently asked questions about what to expect on Sunday mornings. If you have other questions, please contact our senior pastor, Pastor Ramon Smith
WHAT TO EXPECT:
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
SUMC is located on the corner of Bluebonnet and Anderson streets. Our Sanctuary faces Bluebonnet and our church office entrance is off Anderson. Guests are welcome to park in our visitor spaces in front of our Sanctuary.
WHAT ARE YOUR WORSHIP SERVICES LIKE?
In worship, we seek to experience the presence of God and grow closer to one another, learning how to love God, neighbor, and all creation through our engagement with scripture, music, prayer, and sacraments. We currently offer two worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. on Sunday mornings.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
We want you to feel comfortable. Many people come to worship in "business casual" clothes, but many others dress in jeans and t-shirts. It is good to worship God together—we want you to be more focused on the worship service than what you’re wearing. We think you’ll fit in, no matter how you dress.
WHERE DO I TAKE MY KIDS?
For elementary age children, we offer Children’s Sunday School from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
A nursery is provided for children, infants through age 2, in rooms C-17 and C-18. Children are welcome in our worship services. Wee Worship is offered for children ages 3-5 during the 11 a.m. worship service following the children’s sermon. Children are escorted there, where they worship in a specially designed children’s worship experience.
