The Music Ministry at Saginaw United Methodist Church seeks to use music to generate excitement, inspiration, and beauty in our worship services. We joyfully welcome you to use your talents and graces to God’s glory through music!
- CHANCEL CHOIR
The Chancel Choir is at the heart of the Music Ministry at SUMC and provides worship leadership regularly each Sunday at the 11:00 a.m. service. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. in the Choir Room. Childcare is provided.
In addition to Sunday morning worship, the Chancel Choir presents larger choral cantatas and concerts at Christmas and other times during the year. New members are always welcome—no matter what your level of musical ability. Our choir rehearsals are open, and no auditions are held. Come join us! - HANDBELL CHOIR
The Handbell Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. in the Choir Room. Handbells play in worship services every six-weeks and for special occasions throughout the year. While not a requirement, music reading is helpful for this group. New members are always welcome. - CHILDREN’S CHOIRS
Our goal for the Children’s Choirs at Saginaw is to teach children about God’s Word through the medium of music and how to be true worship leaders in the church. - INSTRUMENTAL MINISTRY
Are you one of the many folks who played an instrument in high school or college? Well, get those instruments out of the closet, dust them off, and come join us as a soloist or in an ensemble to play during Advent and other special occasions. This ministry is open to anyone who has played an instrument for two or more years. New members are always welcome. Rehearsal times will vary, as needed.
