Meet Jedda Jones:
Jedda Jones, Director of Music and Creative Worship, is a native Texan and lifelong Methodist. She holds the Bachelor of Music Education degree in voice from Texas Tech University, the Master of Music Education in voice from the University of North Texas, and Mid-management Certification in Educational Leadership from Texas Woman’s University.
Jedda has taught music and choir at all levels from K – 12 in the Irving and Hurst-Euless-Bedford school districts, where she was honored to be recognized as Secondary Teacher of the Year for H-E-B from some 900 junior high and high school teachers in the district. She has been listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers five times, having been nominated by choir students at both the junior high and high school levels.
She is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Choral Directors Association, the American Choral Directors Association, and the Texas Music Adjudicators Association. Jedda often judges UIL Choir Concert and Sightreading Contests across the state and is frequently in demand as a piano accompanist and vocal soloist.
She enjoys drawing, painting, stained glass work, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her mother in Young County, her four nieces and nephews in San Antonio and Austin, and Rosi, her Chihuahua. Jedda has served a variety of denominations as minister of music for the last fourteen years and is very happy to be back home in the Methodist church.
