Meet Dr. Jay Beavers:
Dr. Jay Beavers retired from full-time ministry in the Central Texas Conference in June of 2008 following forty-four years of service. Now he serves part-time as Associate Pastor of the congregation primarily in the area of membership care. Jay’s last appointment before coming on Saginaw’s staff was as District Superintendent of the Weatherford District. Prior to his time as District Superintendent, Jay was Senior Pastor of Arlington Heights United Methodist Church in Fort Worth for five years.
In Dr. Beavers’ spare time, he is busy doing volunteer work as a member of three related hospital boards of trustees, a member of the Central Texas Conference Commission on Archives and History along with the Task Force on Health and Wellbeing. His hobbies include being an amateur radio operator, reading and computer games.
A native of Fort Worth, Jay earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas Wesleyan University and his master’s and doctoral degrees from Southern Methodist University.
Jay is married to Millie. They have two daughters and sons-in-law along with three wonderful granddaughters.
Millie grew up in Fort Worth and graduated from Texas Christian University with a bachelor of nursing degree. She is a retired registered nurse who specialized in labor and delivery as well as high risk pregnancies.
The Beavers’ live in Saginaw and are thrilled to be part of the Saginaw United Methodist Church family.
