Making Faithful Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World . . . One Person at a Time

Meet Leigh Ann McClure

Leigh Ann McClure, a native of Waxahachie, grew up in a family with a rich musical heritage. Her father began his career as a band director and parttime church music director. Her mother, a gifted pianist ad vocalist, began her career as a choral director and has now maintained a private piano studio for 54 years. In addition, her brother and only sibling is a talented composer who serves as Minister of Music at First UMC, Red Oak.

Leigh Ann holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Baylor University and a Master of Music Education degree from the University of North Texas. Her early career was as a junior high school band director. After staying home with children for several years, she came back into teaching as a choral director and it was in choral music that she found her passion. She taught in the Arlington, Cleburne, and Alvarado ISDs before becoming the Head Choral Director at Central High School in the Keller ISD in 2006. While living in Cleburne, she became Director of Music and Worship at St. Mark UMC, serving there for eight years. Leigh Ann is married to Dennis, a history teacher in KISD. They have three grown children (and an amazing son-in-law) and their family has covered the gamut of Texas universities. Kate (a Texas Tech graduate) works as a manager for Anthropologie in Fort Worth. Michelle and her husband, Floyd Joseph, are both Aggies and serve as members of the youth ministry team at White’s Chapel UMC in Southlake. Michael is a recent graduate of Sam Houston State University and is pursuing a career in musical theater in New York City. She considers her family the greatest blessing in her life.

Leigh Ann gave her life to Christ at the age of nine and has considered it a joy to serve Him through the ministries of the local church. She has served as an accompanist, youth Sunday School teacher and director, member of the executive staff of Super Summer Youth Evangelism school, stewardship committee member, and choir member in various churches. Her desire is to lead worship that is relevant and meaningful so that Christ is always glorified and the body is edified and encouraged.
